…I’ve always had, at least on the surface, tremendous self confidence that, with grit, determination and persistence, I can get anything done. That trait, paired with my ambition, some lack of humility and with a laser like focus, I pretty much accomplished everything I wanted, at least professionally. My personal life wasn’t where I wanted it to be…most of what has befallen me over the last ten years or so is as a result of looking for…happiness to pair with my career successes.
By the beginning of COVID in early 2020, I was broke with few prospects for employment. Even when I managed to procure a position which could re-start my career on some level, that failed miserably and I was a mess. The qualities that I depended on to get me where I was had all failed me. I really had nowhere else to turn.
That’s when I spent a lot of time with John searching for answers and looking for places to turn. I couldn’t get it out of my mind that I worked like a dog for years only to end up exactly where I didn’t want to be, especially in these tough times of COVID, inflation, possible WW3 crisis and other things that make surviving today a lot tougher.
John spent a great deal of time guiding me to forget about the past and to live in the present and focus on the future.
As for accepting spirituality and a higher power in my life, I think it was more of a gradual thing. You see, I hate religion, and, as a Jew, a higher power like Jesus always meant religion to me. John showed me that having an individual relationship with Jesus is your own special relationship that has nothing to do with religion.
Believing that I needed a higher power in my life, I began to accept Jesus into my life and began praying to Him daily. In reality, John has shown me the way, and continues to do so, to turn my life over to my higher power and he has literally saved my life. I was in such despair that I ran out of answers and was seriously contemplating life-threatening actions. My relationship with John has saved me from that.
Since then, with John’s guidance, assistance and encouragement, I’ve been able to crystallize my plans for the future spiritually, personally and professionally.
